Sick Days- Catching Up

I am catching up a bit. I have been down a couple day with a stomach bug so I figured I should catch up for the last few weeks. Aside from the little day trips I blogged about we have been super busy with Garden and canning. Last Wednesday I picked 5 gallons of beans and the Mom and Dad had an extra 5 gallons they did not have time to put up so I brought them home with me. So Thursday I broke, strung and canned 21 quarts of green beans. Then we found tomatoes at a good price so we got a bushel and Monday I canned 9 quarts of spaghetti sauce and 22 pints of salsa. Got sick early Tuesday morning. I praise God for a wonderful husband who was able to come home from work Tuesday afternoon and help with the kids and stayed home today so I could get better and get my strength back. What a blessing !! This day is coming to an end and I am feeling some better, stomach still rolling but not sick so I am thankful ! Matt and the boys are out cutting Okra from the Garden cant wait for enough for a fresh batch of fried okra . I love it. And by the end of this week all of our tomatoes should be ready and I am guessing I will have more ready then the bushel we purchased. We will have more beans ready in a few days. With all that has been going on something very important slipped my mind. My baby will be 1 in 3 weeks !! It just seems unreal I guess that is why it slipped up on me. I can't believe it . It just seems like she was born yesterday and by no means that a whole year has already passed. So now this week I will get busy planning a birthday party for my baby. Which make me depressed !! Our camera has been broke since the day at the splash pad,Thanks to Paw and Maw for loaning there camera when we went to Cades cove. But until we find a new one we are with out so I wont be posting too much.

Cade's Cove

Matt took last Friday off and we rode up to Cades cove and spent the day. We started with a picnic and and a few pics, then we drove the loop. We saw a bear and a few deer along the way. Then we went back to the river and played. The water was freezing but it did not stop the boys from having a blast. We found a few rocks to slide on. You can see by their faces and body they were so cold but they would not get out. We had a great day !

Splash Pad and Sunsphere

A couple of weeks we spent the day in Knoxville because Charity and Will had to make a quick trip to Knoxville so we spent the day playing with Will. I took the kids downtown to go up in the Sunsphere and to play in the splash pad. We met our friend Jenni and her 4 boys there. This is a great place to take the kids to play. We had a good time.

Trip to GA

The kids and I went to Columbus , GA mon-thurs to spend some time with my sister and her family. Here are some pics from our trip. Thanks Charity for having us we had fun !

Father's Day

I hope you all had a great Father's Day. And took the time to thank GOD for the wonderful Fathers in your life. Of course I think my kiddos are blessed with the Best Daddy. Thanks Matt for loving us so much and being so great with the kids. Here are a few pics from our day. Matt wanted a cherry pie for dessert. Gracie First Oreo Cookie

Gracie had her first Oreo Cookie tonight and you can tell by the way she looks she enjoyed it. Her hair wont stay out of face so we give her this crazy do when we are home to keep it out of her eyes. She finally got a tooth about a 2 weeks ago. If you look you can see it on the bottom.

Lots of Fun

We have been busy in the last month and have had a lot of fun and new experience's. We had a family Reunion with my dads side and on of his cousins had a Harley so the boys got to go for a ride. They had a blast. I was so nervous to let them go, when he pulled away I was so scared I was thinking that was the stupidest thing I have ever done. But they were just fine and they are still talking about it. It was at Fountain City Park so after their ride all the kids played in the creek which was lots of fun. I will add those pics when my sister sends them to me. We also went out to our friends Jessie and Johns Ranch to spend the day riding horses and learning about all the work involved in caring for horses. This was a good refresher course for me as it as been years since I have saddled up a horse. And with all this HOT weather we pulled out the slip and slide and pool. They are so funny on this thing. We have had tons of fun out of $ 5.00 (Thanks Maw and Paw). Then their friend Clint invited them to VBS, so they went a few nights in the week and then we all went Friday for the last night and the cookout. They were presented certificates (the pic is dark b/c I was in the back of the church) . We had lots of fun with the Bounce house and they brought in the medical helicopter and fire truck for the kids to see. The boys were a little nervous when it got close. We have been very busy lately. Our house is still for sale, only one looker so far so please keep praying for a buyer so we can move home.
